Creativity & Time – an interview with Jeffrey Davis

Laraine Herring interviewed me for her blog today. We talk about making boundaries around family life and creative life, the resonance of the Mind Rooms metaphor, compassion for the creative mind, and playing with fiction.

Every book I’ve read of Laraine’s, by the way, fearlessly faces what troubles the human heart – whether it’s the writer’s heart or a teenage girl’s heart. To see what I mean, check out her nonfiction books The Writing Warrior: Discovering the Courage to Free Your True Voice, Writing with the Breath, and Lost Fathers: How Women Can Heal from Adolescent Father Loss or her latest novel Ghost Swamp Blues. And meeting her at the retreat I lead in Taos was one of those rare instances when meeting the author is just as rich as reading her work.

Enjoy our conversation, and drop in there to add your points of view.

Jeffrey
